Mangabento will be hosting an art contest!
Guidelines:
• Must be 18 yrs or younger to enter (sorry,
no exceptions)!
• Accepted entry sizes will be 8"x10"
to 11"x14", both vertical or horizontal
is okay
• The DEADLINE will be March 26
• All entries MUST BE PRINTED OUT/ON PAPER to
be turned in at the meetings.
• Both black/white and color images are acceptable
and will be judged in the same category
• One entry per person
Prizes will include:
• 1st place: $60 in gift certificates
• 2nd place: $40 in gift certificates
• 3rd place: $20 in gift certificates
• 4th place: one $10 gift certificate
• 5th place: one $10 gift certificate
-- Gift certificates will be provided by stores such
as: Collector
Maniacs, Gecko
Books, Hakubundo,
Hawaiian
Graphics, MechaHawaii,
OK ANIME (535 Ward Ave., Suite 107), and Toys
N' Joys!--

The Consulate
General of Japan in Honolulu is arranging a "Japan
Day" event at the Honolulu Academy of Arts scheduled
for this Sunday, Nov. 6th, and has invited MangaBento
to do a demonstration of sorts!
Here are some of the bitty details:
* The Academy is planning a variety
of activities, including demonstrations
* The event will last from 12:00PM
to around (it depends on how many people will be
there) 5:00PM
* Only light beverages will be
served
There were flyers made for this event, but I don't
have them right now. I'll post them up when I get
them =)

HALLOWEEN COSPLAY |

Hey, peeps!
Just wanted to let you all know that we'd done a little
cosplaying during the 30th's meeting of October~ =)
There was a Light Yagami [DeathNote], three gothic
lolitas (one male--OMG), one Kyou Souma [Fruits Basket],
an angel of death, one Tomoyo Daidouji [Card Captor
Sakura], and one character... that was from some super
old school stuff and I don't quite have the knowledge
to say who it was... (sorry--but she looked cool anyway)!
