ABOUT US
  Description

MangaBento is an anything-goes gathering of artists and art lovers. Most of us are interested in Japan and anime/manga and its derivatives: Cosplay, doujinshi, computer art, gaming, etc.

We at MangaBento provide a place for artists to share ideas, create work, and learn new skills. We can introduce you to the basic tools and techniques used by manga artists, butS it is up to you to develop and train yourself as an artist.

  Staff

The staff are facilitators to aid in your artistic endeavors. We are:
Aaron, Atsuki, Devin, Jeff, Taro

There are no leaders among the staff but each of us bring certain strengths. Here are some of them and a bit of our background:

Aaron: Photoshop
Atsuki: NMA (New Media Arts) student at KCC, enjoys reading manga, favorite type of anime = anything with robots in it.
Devin: Figure drawing, paint (watercolors, acrylic, oil), ceramics, photo, graphics, art teacher, framer, curated and exhibit art, worked for the Mayors Office of Culture and Arts caring for the art collection and setting up exhibits, volunteered at the Contemporary Museum in installations/ breakdown, Bachelor of Fine Arts. Kikaida is the best but liked Getta Robbo G and Raiden as a kid and Pat Labor and Crayon Shin Chan as an adult.
Jeff: Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting '91. Currently enjoying travel photography. Kikaider's OK...Robocon was better. Favorite manga is Mezon Ikkoku.
  Etc.

If you would like to contribute ideas, lead an activity (field-trip, karaoke, workshop, set up an art exhibit, etc), please let us know.
